Acetyl Farnesylcysteine

Acetyl farnesylcysteine (AFC) is a synthetic molecule derived from farnesylcysteine, an amino acid derivative. It works by modulating G-protein coupled receptor signalling, a cellular communication pathway involved in inflammatory responses.

In skincare formulations, AFC functions as a skin-conditioning and anti-inflammatory agent. When applied topically, it helps to reduce localised inflammatory activity without the systemic effects associated with some traditional anti-inflammatory treatments.
