What Is Alaria Esculenta Extract?
Alaria esculenta extract is a type of edible brown seaweed (algae) that contains hydrating and replenishing amino acids, minerals (zinc, selenium, iron), and antioxidant compounds which help influence factors within skin in an effort to offset signs of ageing. Applied to skin, it hydrates, soothes, and facilitates a firmer look and feel.\n\nAlaria esculenta extract is harvested from waters bordering Europe and Ireland. It typically found in blends with other ingredients such as glycols and triglycerides since these help make it more bioavailable to skin. The recommended usage level is 0.005%–1%, with 1% being advised when this algae is part of a blend (meaning the actual content of the algae itself is lower than 1%, but still considered effective).
