What Is Dimethylsilanol Hyaluronate?
Dimethylsilanol hyaluronate is a cosmetic ingredient obtained by the condensation of a synthetic silicone derivative on sodium hyaluronate (the salt form of hyaluronic acid), which may either be synthetic or animal derived. This ingredient is supplied to cosmetics formulators through Monoco-based manufacturer Exsymol.
Exsymol claims dimethylsilanol hyaluronate enhances moisture through long-term hydration. It also says this ingredient has firming abilities and can improve the look of stretch marks, though that has not been proven yet through independent research.
The recommended use level of dimethylsilanol hyaluronate in cosmetics is 0.5–2%.
