What Is NeoGlucosamine?
NeoGlucosamine is a trademarked form of N-Acetyl Glucosamine, an amino sugar naturally found in the skin. It works differently from traditional exfoliants by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase and interfering with glycosaminoglycan production in the stratum corneum.
This dual action helps reduce hyperpigmentation while promoting gentle, non-irritating exfoliation. Unlike acids, NeoGlucosamine does not cause photosensitivity and can be used morning and evening.
The ingredient is particularly effective when combined with niacinamide, as research shows this combination enhances the brightening effects of both ingredients.
